as the title goes Looking for some pictures and some suggestions dos and donts on a permenent sheep handeling system. The system needs to handle up to 500 ewes with lambs it would possibly be indoors and have approx 120 ft x30 ft to work with it needs to include a race as long as possible. 3 way shedding gate and pens both sides of race to hold about a fair amount of sheep the ewes would be gatherd to a coral that feeds this working area.

I'd defo want included....
2x 30/40ft x 3ft drench races side by side feeding the shedding race.
Plus some nicely designed forcing pens to feed the drench races.
Leave room on the front of the drafting race to fit clamps or weigh scales
We do all our foot bathing in the drenching race by dropping 10x3ft cattle baths in the race

This is our lambing shed/fank. It’s 195 x 95 just to give an idea of scale. Sheep enter half way up the shed from the outside where it is convenient to enter(left of this pic) into the first collecting area then into the Area right at the very back and then bring them forward into the Scotpen and then through the clamp at the other end of the shed. Can draft them out into yard or left and right into lambing pens which are secured with wee gates. Works really well for us and wouldn’t change much. Width of the pass is 15ft from memory so 195x15 for the majority. Two collecting pens are 40x27. Just ewes I can get 700 in with a bit of jostling.
Keep it simple do things so you can move and change and think like a sheep. Think you may struggle with that number in that space potentially 1500 head! How many sheep you got if you got bunches of that size. Oh and think like a sheep footbath on way out routinely etc

That double race is awesome!, Don't understand why double races aren't used more often, the vid shows how well they can work. People will buy a set of alloy yards but wouldn't spend £1k for on a double race to go with it, which could probably really improve its use/efficiency. Although I'd probably cull those last 7 ewes that hung back.
.Like both them very simple, sheep won’t all be in one go they will be held in a shed next to then feed through a yard system would like to include all the usual race treatment stand scale shedding gate foot bath on way out shedding pens and loading area just after a few designs I guess to come up with a master plan which would like something similar to a market holding system where sheep can be penned up in say groups of 50 held for a few hours at most whilst handling other stock

Get a proway rotary force put in - wouldn’t be hard to make your own. If you watch the video on it you’ll see why..
Like all the others go twin race, 30ft, 33-36” wide. We have a single race of this length taping into a turnover crate we don’t use but we have double locked so nothing can escape between batches, this leads into an old style divider(no stop) I’d put a 25-30ft footbath in for single file like I’ve got, we’ve also got a dip the same length alongside the footbath which is now covered but when drafting we could divide straight into the dip, instead now we have an arc and straight up to the combi clamp.

Is that a narrow double spreader? The rappa double race W I saw today was 33” either side.
I wonder if they’d run up that freely to the combi clamp without someone behind them?
It's 2 narrow spreaders at each end. I asked rappa to make a proper thing for the job with a small division between the two lanes but couldn't get them interested. Using existing rappa bits it could be done pretty cheaply.
We use it to fill our clamp particularly with pregnant ewes

No they are rappa. I wanted them to make a w spreader and the middle section

now i like those - had a look at a cracking wee setup today down near cirencester - again a combiclamp - had a bend just prior and some nice wee backstops on it...
