Hymac 580C

Evening all.
The trusty rusty Hymac bought for £1250 twenty years ago is showing its age after a massive soil and hardcore move for a new house. The front track idler bushes are shot, it's the normal type not the cast shoes and I have the parts manual so know what's what and where. Just wondering if anyone has done this and can offer some pearls of wisdom. It's a split the tracks job so not needing much finesse more brute strength type job.

theres a few being broken on ebay if you need any spares
Yes I've seen that and if they sell at those prices I'll break her and buy another!!!!! Trouble with s/h bits is that the wearing parts are usually worn. I'm hoping the castings are ok so it's just bronze bushes which are quite cheap and can be made if not available.

Thanks for the input. Facebook came up trump's advising don't split track.just slacken off the tension and pull the track sideways then pull out idler. Starting new regime this week three shredded wheat for breakfast all week.
Used a Teleporter here and make sure the grease nipple is completely out lift up with hymac push in with head stock then get the slack track and lift sideways good luck

Yes would agree with the seal problem. Happened on our old 580D.
Btw I have a Hymac bucket, a drive sprocket and a couple of bottom rollers.
I had that on one side a few years ago and bought a new seal. No way could I get it over the piston so I cut the retaining end off the piston and slid it on, pushed the whole lot in and bingo tight as a ducks arse ever since.
