That's a lot better than some of our early efforts this season. Have had tractor re calibrated and turned sensitivity up to 140% (CNH AFS 700) and seemed to improve it, still waiting for wheat to emerge for final proof though.

I tended to have ours set to 142% as press can upset tractor as its a sumo centre press with lorry tyres and they are non steering. Even though range point is only said to be 15 cm accuracy, When spraying discing/pressing off , If I measure the distance it is usually within 5cm of my set width.

I have been turning my aggressiveness down. Set at 100% just now and I thought that evened out the wiggles. Do you guys think it is better set higher?

I'm just using easy pilot and still have my markers down. Need to get her running straight on the line before switching on auto steer or it wiggles like a bugger.

I have mine set at around 142% on loose going as tending to fight with front press. On firmer going probably 124% with front press. Probably over correcting too much but tends to stay between 0 to 2cm online. Without front press would be a lot lower.

I'm running a front fert box with press wheels most of the time. Felt she was steering to hard causing the wiggles. The ezi-pilot will be a lot slower to respond though.

Our first season here drilling with range point, we find it very good, and certainly good enough to drill with. Had it fitted just in time to try out on the maize drill and then this autumn with 4m vad and 4m kuhn accord combi. Started out set at 3.9 m to allow for not being rtk accuracy, but now set at 4m with very few misses. Find we can drill dead straight with the trailed vad, using high motor speed, angle per turn at 15.9 and 125% aggressiveness. Combi is very different, using medium motor speed, angle per turn 11 and aggressiveness 105%. Can get the odd wiggle crossing rough/soft ground but nothing that really matters.Keep playing with the settings till it does what your happy with. System is fm750, easy pilot with t3 terrain compensation. With regard to the OP, looks good to me, and as you rightly say the front press makes things much harder too.

Does anyone have anymore pictures of their drilling on Rangepoint? Currently considering investing in a system and Rangepoint does seem good value for money! We run a 3m Combi and front press so i am keen to see how good it could be. Thanks

Sure there was a thread a while back that rangepoint rtx had been upgraded and is now 4cm accuracy.
Really? I’ve been using centrepoint because I felt that the wide joints I occasionally got with rangepoint were letting the blackgrass in due to lack of competition. If rangepoint is now that good it would be far better value than 2.5 cm centrepoint.

The trimble website still quotes rangepoint at sub 15cm accuracy i think.

Hi!
Can you tell me the value of Angle per turn?

Seems to be running better here this season so that might explain why. It’s not perfect but is good enough. Changed tractors and seem to run different settings now despite everything on the tractor being the same and antenna etc in the same place. Still think it’s a good value system.

Ours seems never to be more than 2cm off line ,

2 cm off of which line? Surely you are not referring to tractor position on the screen, off of the line on the screen. The drill would be off from the ideal line by more than 2 cm even if the absolute position error of the receiver was constant 0 cm. Front press may add errors. In any case it is impossible to find a 2 cm receiver error by looking at the field after drilling.

From my experience the steering is always aiming for zero deviation from the line and if set up properly is very able to achieve this , this is my 3rd year on system with no real issue , line will sometimes move if you are away filling drill or overnight , but never had any problems with failing to follow line

So you are talking about the line on shown on the display after all. The tractor following the line on the display has nothing to do with the receiver accuracy. You could run with EGNOS or even without any correction signal and the "screen" would steer the tractor to follow the wayline very accurately. The problem is that the position of the wayline on the display is always incorrect. With RTK it is correct to less than an inch but it could be 20 to 30 cm off from the previous path (on EGNOS) and in absolute terms even more. This error would be there even if the tractor was spot on by the display.

The discussion about the accuracy of RTX and other correction signals is something completely different from the error the display shows from the target path.

Second year drilling with RTX here through the Intelliview screen and very pleased with it, seems to be on a par with the SF2 set up I used before, will get some pics when some Wheat starts poking through.

Only time I've ever seen line move , is after I've been away getting seed and come back after an hour , or overnight etc , never seen it move or be inaccurate pass to pass ,
