Have some lads in doing some works for us at home, they're cracking on - and they have found me some old clay drains that some are free flowing - some need a bit of tlc:

The drain on the left on the bottom is not flowing freely - so needs a rodgering

This one is flowing freely, but may have to look at the route of some of them further:

Digger driver has got his eye in ,,smart job

He's only a young lad on the digger been doing it for three years, but they are quite critical of their work, obviously as they want it to be all of a high level as they do not advertise - all word of mouth.
The ditch is being worked on (made larger) to allow for the other works we are having done to drain effectively.

It is nice to see the differences made each day they are here carryng on with the works.

Looks a good job. I don’t want to sound critical but wouldn’t the ditch be better a bit deeper so the clay drains run and keep themselves clear?

In fairness to him, they did try and go as deep as they could at the start of the run - but the part of the drain you do not see runs down into another farmers land / drains that will not allow ours to go any lower - without creating a lake our side, which we did not want as the field will be set out for a lunging pen etc.
