When I made previous post I did wonder if your riposte would be the run of dry winters and summers in 89, 90, 91 - so well done with the follow up. You are wrong with 2011 as that was followed with the horror that was June/July 2012 - very dull, lot of rain - low yields and specific weight.

I would still prefer some normal winter rainfall - OK for your heavy boulder clay but some folk have irrigation reservoirs to refill from winter field drainage - so we need some field drainage.

But as ever we have no idea and will get what we get. Nice 10mm yesterday.
