She drove into the yard in August 1986. Today she drove out for the last time...........

......32 years of sterling service. Fert/lime spreading, spraying, baling and power harrowing. The last 10 or 12 with a loader on, so in sort of semi-retirement.
No major problems - she's had a few clutches, an alternator or two, a few tyres, etc but she's still on the same block  (actually we've never had a Ford with a porous block).

Considering the amount of salt blends she's spread, I didn't think the old lass looked too bad, although the mudguards have 'gone' and the door bottoms are starting to 'go'.
Apparently she's going to see out her last days in warmer climes, so they probably won't need the cold start button in the mornings ;)

Here's couple of pics of her in her Glory Days.........

How many hours in those 32 years?
Now you've got me thinking :scratchhead: I've just remembered that it had a new odometer in the dim and distant past - a quick trip to the office tells me that it's proper hours are 14750, give or take a few for when the clock malfunctioned.

In it's early days it was doing 1000/1100 hrs a year but for the last 10 or 12 it's been poddling around the yard with a loader on.

This means I need to revise my depreciation figure to £0.98/hr

She would’ve made someone a lovely retirement project!

There would have been a fair bit of work- the dealer I sold it to reckoned the fertiliser had done a bit too much to the tinwork for it to be a restoration project. He's exporting it to one of the Mediterranean countries.

I've got another one, that's a year older, that would be a better bet for restoring;)

I’ve seen a few out here. They all seem to be in good condition and earning their keep. The drier climate keeps the rot out of the tin work I guess, but I’m always amazed at some of the restoration work done on some of the Facebook groups. People put allot of time and effort into getting them looking good!

Shame to see things like that exported. Would the dealer get a high price for exporting it rather than selling it as is to a customer.
