Quite pleased with these homebrew lambs, seem to be growing quite well. 9 weeks or so. Never really had much to do with texels and big bums so they look shapey to this Kiwi.

What's the plan if it gets too stemie as in how far will you let it go before you take it out as surplus.
In the plan is to have one paddock deferred grazing "taken out" if you like, right the way through. I am going to get onto a couple of covercrops so that will help manipulate things maybe. And I have a bit assigned for silage as well.

So, my grazing area is less and so I have more pressure on them if need be.

I think I am going to try a quick covercrop to store up some moisture and feed in case it goes dry, on about 7 acres that are just about in need of a decent smothering.

Simon says buckwheat, daikon, mustard and leafy turnip for a 60 day crop... and then it should be cleaner to put some chicory down. It will end up a sea of gorse if I do nothing.
