Always seems like a good idea to do a park run mid week, then it gets to saturday morning and I add one of the following excuses to 25min is to far to drive; its cold, its raining, I have a cold, I have a cough, I was in the pub last night, I can't find my trainers, etc etc.. plus if I go my 6 year old will come too and beat me.. think I need to borrow @JCMaloneys personal trainer for motivation..

...do you think we could get a group rate if we all followed her round together?

I'm finally speeding up again. I must be starting to shake off that harvest stagnation.
I thought I could feel something in my shoe on the run, but nothing bad enough to stop and investigate. When I got home and took it off, there was a sewing needle in it
It must have dropped off the sideboard into the shoe underneath it this
morning. No harm to my foot, but it stuck in my finger getting it out!

Had my first "training session" on Tuesday. Just when I was convincing myself I had a reasonable level of fitness my trainer nearly killed me!!
Active stretching exercises for 10 minutes.
2km run to park.
3 circuits of the outdoor gym equipment.
Walk to the bottom of a steep 100 metre hill & then do 5 "shuttle sprints" up said hill with a recovery walk back down.:eek:
Then 2k run home....................... and sprint the last 150 metres to the front door.

I was nearly sick.

I have 5 more sessions booked. :nailbiting:

No pain no gain.... :D:D:)

That sounds tough!

I've been a bit under the weather lately, and plan on doing my first run in about 2 weeks today. It's going to be interesting to see how I feel afterwards, and whether or not my pace will suffer at all for it.

We had a Royal Marines PT instructor pushing us hard for fitness training at our tug of war early in the summer.
I maintained that as the anchor, it was like making a rugby prop forward keep up with the wingers. I got left behind to get on with my own thing a few times (n)

My young farmers tug of war team I coach are coming Parkrunning this Saturday. They had a go last year, but fizzled out after a few weeks. They say they're determined to see it through to the summer this time.

We had 50 or so "Couch to 5k" folk last week, will be interesting to see the attrition rate! I`m down for volunteering (setting up) and running....... double points!! :D:D

Today's 5k was, as predicted, a nightmare.

...felt like I had someone sitting on my chest, and I could only breathe through a straw.

I will head out again tomorrow morning and see if all that coughing has helped any.

@Daniel Larn push through it, I done a Parkrun at Seaton in August when I had a proper stinking "lurgy". Thought I was going to die halfway through, but felt better at the end! :)

Stayed in bed the next day mind!!! :D:D
Yeah, I will definitely keep pushing. I always feel so much better after a run, which is one of the reasons I always try and go early doors. Sets me up nicely for the day.

...even if I am sweaty, wheezing and red in the face.
