The holy grail for Marshall enthusiasts.
The story that I was told, and I believe the original owner told me, was that the Marshall business owner, Joseph Nickerson, took a party of farmers to view his products coming out of Gainsborough. Why were some painted in that colour scheme? Trying to woo John Deere enthusiasts ?
I remember at the time some cynics referred to The Marshall 'Harvest Gold' colour scheme as "Calf scour yellow"!The story that I was told, and I believe the original owner told me, was that the Marshall business owner, Joseph Nickerson, took a party of farmers to view his products coming out of Gainsborough.
This particular farmer really liked the tractors, but just didn't like the Harvest Gold colour scheme. Joe Nickerson said if he purchased a Marshall he could have it whatever colour he wished.
Wether he was a JD fan, or just liked the colour scheme, I'm not sure, but they were running JD last time I was in the yard.
Can you get a photo of it? It would be nice to see the 4wd on here as well!!

I would love to know the history behind that tractor, i.e. why its only done 77 hours before been parked in a shed somewhere?http://parristractors.com/used-farm-machinery/details.php?src=1&id=92889

Anyone who does that to a rare and classic tractor should be put up against a wall and shot2wd 125 on eBay at the minute.View attachment 736104
I once saw a Marshall MP6 that had been "Modified" ( For want of a better word) as a pulling tractor. If only it had been left alone and probably sympathetically restored such a rare bird would have worth a small fortune now.Only using the Leyland bonnet ..............
Edit:
Looking at it again, that looks like a Zetor lurking underneath.
look it up on ebay item no 113 350 174 144,it clearly states its zetor crystal based with a Perkins 6 354 motor, seen it pulling a few times at both much marcle and welland steam rallies, its a refreshing change in amongst all the fordson majors/ford derivatives,Anyone who does that to a rare and classic tractor should be put up against a wall and shot
