Here’s a few pictures I took whilst checking the valve clearance on the 880 earlier in the year to keep the page alive!

I would think its 125hp
I have a non turbo 1594 as well and its like chalk and cheese. You do need fog lights on the turbo tractor to see through the smoke mind

Do they really have that much power? I am thinking of changing my main tractor for something a bit over 100hp but hadn't considered this option. Would they be mostly knackered now though?

It’s common knowledge on here that it’s possible to soup a DB 1954 up to well over 500hp....

Just don’t expect the final drive to cope...

@Selectamatic - It's only approx 90hp. On heavy land it struggles a bit here and there. Now obviously if I was a contractor or had loads more land I wouldn't consider such an idea, but if I could buy a bit more power that was affordable then I might be tempted to buy another DB.

And @Drillman - as a relative newcomer to the forum, I never got to experience the full on assault of DB John's endless antagonisms on here (though the fact I've even heard of him says something...) Nevertheless his reputation has helped keep DBs affordable to scrotes like me.

In truth, if you want a bit more power than a 90hp, any 6 Cylinder DB is not the man for you, but then, would any other 100hp tractor be?

Ha - yes, obviously there'd be little sense in trading something of approx 91hp for something else of 100hp when both are of around 35 years old with unknown past 'experience'. It was just the headline '125 hp' that caught my eye...

I'll probably stick with the JD for the time being, I don't really need to sink any more cash into buying machinery for the next year or so ('til something blows up of course...).

I saw this at a sale opposite the Old Factory at Meltham and fell in love with it, after i brought it, I had to take it over t'road for a few photos.

Strange to think that it drove through those gates when brand new, where it was made, over 40 years ago. :)

Mine was P Registered, I can see a few changes, Inboard Headlamps, didn't have the gold piece on the nosecone and had a transfer instead of the plastic badge. Looks like quite a tidy model you got there.
