Collecting concrete yourself

Is there really likely to be much saving? Guess it depends if you just want a part load but I would think the ready is plant would probably price is higher for collection to not have the hassle of messing up the system.

Would think you’d need to be careful of it settling or drying out.

It’s pretty dense too so you’d want to be careful to not damage the trailer.

Not forgetting the need to wash the trailer out after.

I have done it, admittedly 4 miles, but it needed livening up through a mixer when it got home, the water comes to the top and runs out the tailgate, and the fines stick to the trailer bed.

4 miles away, do it regulary for small lots, have a dry mix, and put plenty of water with it when you empty.
part load here is, £40 metre empty, £70 metre mix

Done it a few times.
Good for quantities that would be too much to mix and too little for to get delivered.
Just get it semi dry and add water if needed at home.
Used it for foundations, house floors and patching.

No rmc lorry will fit here so the builder lined his trailer with plastic and collected it from the plant 2 miles away. It was then carried in buckets through the house to the back kitchen to make the new floor. No wheelbarrow access either, so it was a pain carrying out the old floor, slabs and soil.

Can't get mixers in here any more -they all got wider after about 2000.
Everything has to be ferried last 1/4 mile in handler bucket and dump trailer.
Which is A COMPLETE PAIN IN THE ERSE!
