Topping up soil reserves with SOYL variable rates. I sold a lot of straw last harvest so K levels will need replenishing. MOP is a salt (KCl) so I'd rather not put it on now & have it leach out over winter.

I had a very good chance meeting with an industry experts today , he's someone with vast knowledge and no vested interest in selling anything and he's sure that the CF price has started to high and that it can't rise much and it will probably come down as the season progresses. He also said urea will be back to nearer the 200 mark later in the season.

I remain sceptical but time will tell!!!!

Yeah the calls from people must be annoying, but some of those people care about you getting a good deal and are only telling you the info they get.

Suffice to say the AN market has risen about £80 since the start of the season, Have you bought or are you still holding out with the view like many that "it has to come down"

Most years the price low point was in June & the highest was in March/April. Other than the odd exceptional year like 2015/16 and after the stupid price spike in 2008 that was crashed by cheap urea in early 2009, this is usually the case. Therefore, I'm glad I got my orders priced as soon as the season opened and will continue to do so!!

Even if you get the odd year when the price declines toward the end of the season you have done well by adopting the early buy strategy
