I seem to remember talk of someone getting a crop of spring barley from a reservoir in '76!You cant farm water Clive!
We were at field capacity before Christmas with drains and rivers flowing well
Not sure about that, but I'm sure that it is difficult to farm without it.You cant farm water Clive!
I'm in a similar boat, my usual suppliers are going plant their surplus rather than buy seed which they tell me is very expensive and not very good germination. Can't find anyone locally with any spare. So their probably not cheap....What are feed oats worth now? I’m in the market for some if anyone has any?
How much are you doing? I'm tempted to lock in 1t/acre of harvest 19.Feed wheat £155 Jan/March 2020
Trying to second guess the Deal vote on Tuesday by taking some cover.

Argentina having a fantastic growing season, Brazil pondering whether they will break crop records. How are other cropping regions doing?A lot of good looking crops at the moment, I’m wondering what stories are going to come out if we have a big export surplus which could keep prices down. Did a couple loads Nov £156, might do some more methinks.

If it's rejected though will that not weaken the £ and benefit us anyway.
Just over half budgeted yield. I can turn a profit at that. No osr done yet as I’m still concerned that flea beetle could kill a fair chunk of the crop. Wheat is harder to market under WTO than barley so I’ve only done a little bit of malting barley marketing.
What do options cost for that period?
It's certainly a big call at the moment which way anything will go in next few months. I suppose the aim at the moment must be to protect against risk of losses rather than hoping to maximise profits. (not that is a bad thing)
