What do you think people would be willing to pay to rent bare arable land with no bps or countryside stewardship. ( landlord keeping both) Am playing with figures and was just wandering especially With this brexit thingy turning into an utter shambles and the threat of a Corbyn lead government getter closer by the day

That’s what it should be but we all know lthat economic reality goes out of the window when it comes to grabbing rented land.

West Sussex could be on Chichester Plain and be Grade 1 land so always worth money even without any other income other than the crop.
However if marginal tired Downland on the north escarpment then I think you are best to walk away!

Probably. But as said plenty of poorer land isn’t going to earn its tenant that. Rents will fall as farmers start to run out of cash.

But if an entrepreneurial @Beef farmer wants to milk some cows on it then who knows what will happen.

For some it will be what their forward budgets allow, for others it will depend on how big a balls they think they may have!

You may get it for less though and I would think the land will improve quite easily from what it is, depends on the length of term offered.

I would pay £100 an acre for that farm if it didnt have another cottage there. Its an absolute pain having someone else living that close.
