Anyone using either their new RTK Modem based system or a base station signal.
Do you find the accuracy, reliability and backup to a good standard?Looking for something a bit better than Rangepoint ideally.

Have used base station through RTK Farming for a few years. Switched from a sim card system as kept getting signal dropping out at certain times of day.
Base station signal has been superb across our land and very accurate year on year for drilling, spraying etc. keeping tramlines in same place and no obvious gaps with drilling and cultivations. As a company they are extremely knowledgeable in sorting issues if there is a problem. Had a couple of issues when we switched equipment over to a new tractor this year which they were helpful with, although it was things that I had done wrong. My only problem is on one field at home where I lose signal half way up the field. Very random and the same every year. There are no trees, elec poles etc. Everywhere else works perfect.

Thanks all,
Just wondered why they are now offering a SIM card system as well now, must be alot cheaper presumably for them or the customer?

I believe it might be to do with the fact they can remote in, so problem solve without coming out, so less down time if there is any.

Also tied in with fact that some farms even with masts being nearby have reasonable black spots we have 4 masts within 4-10 mile as crow flys and have huge problems with dead spots and as a company they have been fantastic!! We now run one on RTX aka SIM card and no problems with that at all.

Is that VRS instead of RTX? RTX does not fit with the SIM card AFAIK.

Every option has issues of their own. Sometimes the cellular coverage is not good enough. Sometimes hills etc. block signals from masts or geostationary satellites.

Sorry apologies I got mixed up yes run one on SIM card and is great and one on rtx and 3 on RTK all have pluses and minus points but VRS we find as reliable as Rtk

It might be worth trying out Trimble CenterPoint RTX Fast correction, this would offer 2.5cm cm pass-to-pass accuracy over satellite with full convergence in 5 minutes or less.

You would still need a high accuracy unlock on your Trimble display or receiver with this correction however would eliminate the need for an RTK radio or external modem.

If you would be interested in a trial please let us know.

What are the yearly costs for this service?

We can currently offer the below costs for CenterPoint RTX Fast correction, these costs have come down over recent years with extra discounts now available for multiple-year subscriptions:

12 Months Trimble CenterPoint RTX Fast Subscription – Retail Price: £650.00 ex VAT
2 Years Trimble CenterPoint RTX Fast Subscription – Retail Price: £1235.00 ex VAT
3 Years Trimble CenterPoint RTX Fast Subscription – Retail Price: £1755.00 ex VAT
5 Years Trimble CenterPoint RTX Fast Subscription – Retail Price: £2600.00 ex VAT

As mentioned above your Trimble display or receiver would need a high accuracy unlock to work on this correction.

There is also going to be a frequency change for all Trimble RTX corrections at the start of June 2019 and your display or receiver may need a firmware upgrade for ongoing operation.

Been looking into this today, to unlock our Trimble to rtk is £1800!

I thought rangepoint rtx was over 1k yearly subscription too, so the above prices may change my plans.

Hard to believe you can buy a full RTK system today for the price 1 Yearly subscription. Wonder how long Ag Mfrs are going to be able to milk that cow for?

We say: As long as you have a sheep, that long you will have the wool.

You're rignt. Complete autopilot with your own RTK base station L1 you can have for 1500- 2000 $.
No additional subscription is requred.

Rangepoint is £250/yr sub and is only 1 unlock code I believe (might not be any). Think your getting yourself confused with the various other signal subs that are available.

Where are you buying RTK unlocked systems for £625??
