greasing the tractor

does anyone jackup the front of their tractor when greasing the front axle kingpins and pivit pin, the reason i ask was on youtube someone said grease got in better and lasted better, comments please

It is better to raise it slightly, so that the axes of rotation are released around its contour. If we raise it a lot we go from being totally supported the upper part of the shaft to being totally supported in the lower part.
It is about releasing the surroundings of the obejective axes so that the fat is distributed all around them. I hope you understand me

But I guess depends how big yer tractor is ..... my farm Jack lift 3 t :happy::unsure:

I've never once thought about jacking up the tractor to grease it? Fully front suspended on mine, all the grease goes in easy, I just think the amount it moves and everything else I can imagine the grease manages to find it's way around everywhere it needs to go?

Imagine case is same as NH, I don't think 1 grease nipple on point where axle pivots is enough. Can't imagine it can get worked all the way round.

Unfortunately the grease wont go into every corner, it will take the path of least resistance, so if it can get out it will leaving the contact area dry. No good greasing blind, it needs to come out after passing through the joint.
