Weight loss - Slim for Cereals

Remember watching a programme about weigh loss and it said yo measure your height and cut a piece of string to that length, fold it in half and try and put it round you. When it goes round you then youre the right size for your height. Waist = half your height. Haven't tried it yet to see how far away I am
I've just that and I'm one trouser size to big ! I'm tending not to go by weight more by the fact I've had to by smaller clothes ! I remember the last time I went for a medical and doctor did height and weight and told me to ignore the "official" recommendations because I will never be that weight !

For those with a smartphone there is the free version of the ‘MyFitnessPal’ app, where you can record weight, calorie intake and activity. Lots of nice touches like being able to scan barcodes etc.

Having said that, since new year I’ve completely dropped booze, biscuits, crisps and my daily packet of wine gums, and I haven’t lost a lb, which is a bit annoying.

For those who struggle to resist chocolate and biscuits I have found eating a handful of nuts will take the snack craving away without putting weight on. Some of the roasted beans and peas are quite tasty but pricey. Just watch the salt intake though.

lots of fat and protein in nuts - not the best for weight loss (but better than sweets !)

these are VERY motivating ..........................

My suggestion would be that everyone on this thread that wants to lose weight buys a set and stands on them every morning first thing - create a group and motivate each other to get to your target, post the links to the league table on here etc

Peer pressure is your friend here, its why the likes of weight watchers clubs etc work so well, you wont want to let each other down

I know they costs a bit but so does most diets / slimming clubs and what price your health ? Ive been using a set for 12 months, I tend to look more at the body fat % and lean mass % han weight as that's a better guide to health IMO you get some interesting data over time

A bit annoying??

I'd be suicidal!

I only want to lose a stone, to get me under the next bracket, but it's a struggle.

In a few weeks I'll have more free time to start Parkruns again (y)

Found something to satisfy me sweet tooth and not be full of sugar and crap today. My daughters jelly pots. Like the jelly you would get a kids party but ready made in a pot ready to eat. All of 10 calories per pot (y)
Had 2 of them and I didn't feel hungry after it and stopped me eating a load of biscuits or something.
Probably best not to have ice cream with them though :(
