I always thought clover never did or lasted very well.

Agronomist reckons available P will help get the grass growing earlier in the Spring too.
Plants will be more very dry spell / drought tolerant .

Both local suppliers still saying 1.27.0 rock phosphate is better product than tsp

I've gone to using Fibrophos, applied every few years. Otherwise, 1 cwt/ac of 0:24:24 as a maintenance dressing each year on grazing ground, double that plus some MOP for anything that has a cut taken off it.
Agronomist is very keen on using a low rate of DAP early in the Spring on grassland, and reckons it really gets things going early on. I haven't tried it though, as it's very acidifying to the soil iirc (and expensive
). Used to use it in the Spring Barley seedbed before we managed to get indices up slightly, where it was fantastic stuff for promoting early rooting.

That should be ok with Scotphos as long as it's cheaper than TSP, not forgetting spreading costs.

Scotphos Powder is around 200/t plus spreading. Granulated 50/t more
Tsp is around 350/t price i ve been given so far.
Avoid the granulated - the lower surface area vs powder means it will be very slow release and unsuitable for correcting low indices. Maintenance only.
Say it's £210/t spread. £210 for 270 kg P2O5 = 77.7 p/kg. TSP is £350 for 460 kg P2O5 = 76 p/kg not including spreading but I assume you've got a suitable fertiliser spreader so the cost of application is minimal.
At that money the TSP looks a better bet IMO, but it needs to suit your logistics. If you go with Scotphos, consider a bigger dose as it will mean more is available sooner if you have the cash.

Assuming a relatively low dose per acre, it's going to cost a lot more than £10/t for spreading. Fibrophos 'delivered & spread' here is £146/t, but that includes 5ac (£25?) worth of spreading for each ton.
The dose is going to make a difference - the OP needs a big dose of at least 500 kg/ha to lift his indices so the cost per tonne should be less. My figures were only a rough guide & there are so many variables. IIRC the last time I had some VR Fibrophos spreading it was £10.40/ha regardless of dose rate though it was a biennial dose to make it more worthwhile, so some big doses in places.

The college have recommended 375kg/ha of tsp or 500kg/ha of scotphos for the low fields. Im confused, doesnt that give a different amounts of P? @Brisel @neilo
Tsp is £353/t. Scotphos 0.29.5.0 is £208/t +£11/ha spreading.
Its around 90ha i want to do. Can you guys tell which is the best value? Ive got myself in a right mess with my maths
