Bmw 3 series led headlights

Anyone got 1 of the above??
Mrs has and there's a horizontal dark line in the beam of the headlights
You got the dip beam and when you use main beam the dip stays lit and main beam goes over the top of the dip but the main beam is too high
Bmw say there's nothing wrong:rolleyes:

If I park 1 meter away from a wall with the lamps on you can see a 10mm or so dark line between the beams so you can imagine how wide it is at driving distances

Have 2 BMW’s with LED headlights and no such issues, I’d keep on at BMW until they resolve it. Shouldn’t be any black spots or lines in your vision.

You could always play the “it’s dangerous” card. Could you get a photo of it to show the problem?

hmm bmw say thats normal:rolleyes:
I suspect they'll be auto levelling.

There should be some calibration available to the dealer, I can't think that there will be ant manual adjustment but it's worth checking
yes self leveling but the 2 beams dont match

Pop your bonnet and can you see a white adjuster screw on the headlight unit? There should be 2, one for side to side and one for height... this was the case on xenon cars as I had to lower mine once after changing suspension it was all over the shop. Not sure if it’s the same on Led’s I’d check fir you but my bonnet is an absolute pig to shut

Just checked
When it was green bower they were ok but have gone downhill since synter
Just checked mine against a wall and definitely no gap between dip and main they have at least a 2 inch overlap

I will find a clean wall later and get a pic if I can
Its more a annoyance than anything as once you see it it your eye gets drawn to it:banghead:

Was looking at them here earlier and can't see any obvious adjustments and it seems that both lamps each side do dip and main beams

When you turn the lights on, do they both move down then back up again automatically? May even do a side to side movement as well?
If not I would think there is a fault with the self levelling motor, or the sensor. If either was at fault, a laptop would identify which one.
What side is it on, drivers or passengers
