Samsung A7/S7/S8

Phone contract is almost up. Will probably buy handset separately and then sim from gif gaff instead of O2 contract.
Never had the most up to date phone and got on fine. Current phone has 16gb and added a memory card but it is becoming a joke trying to keep space.
So can get an A7 v reasonably but how do the s7 or s8 compare?
Use a few apps, pics and internet but don't post my life online or anything.
Any thoughts?

S8 here after S2 S4 and an S6.

Missus has an S8 after years of using Sony.

It's the best out of the S Samsung's I've had and is looking like it'll last longer than the others... and I'll go Sim only with it after coming out of a cheap contract. I'll probably go S10 after this one.

Had s7,s8 and now s9, good phones, I like the water proof of them, great for our line of work, more stuff on it than I’ll ever use, good camera I think. Battery can, just, do me two days if needed but it normally sits on charge overnight.

Is there a big improvement going from S8 to S9 ? I notice that the S9 is fairly dropping in price prior to the S10 at the end of the month being due for announcement . TBH I'm quite suited with the S8 , but I also wondered about the Huawei . I don't have any of them on contract - just sim from "3"

Thanks for the suggesting. Huawei Honor has come up a few times but tbh i haven't the patience to learn a new system
Its android so it is near the same as samsung
Only down fall ,they use nano sims ,not micro so if you have a micro in your present phone and want to swap it over ,,it wont fit but you can use an app called transfer data which moves everything from one phone to the other

Read a review that the S8 wasn't a whole lot better than it's predecessor, and perhaps wasn't worth the upgrade.

I’d say the s8 was different/improvement over the s7, definitely in looks, but the s8 & s9 I cant tell apart, I hand mine down to the family so just take the upgrades when they come and then the wife and kids get upgrades too, pass them down the line. Best thing about the s9 is the eye unlock, just look at it and it’ll unlock.

no good for adding to internal memory though, some apps can't be moved to external SD card, i'm in the same boat as the OP and my internal memory is riding at about 100Mb, i usually have to remove an app to add a new one

You feel the pain as well. Because updates keep taking memory I am stuck with the apps I have.

Ive a Samsung galaxy j6, works fine for me. Cost £125.

This is my conundrum. Do I really need such a power phone as the latest ones or even the not so latest ones. I am not tech savvy and I wonder if any of these samsungs will be good enough.
What does the S7 do that the A7 doesn't?

Memory isn't / hasn't been a problem either. I photograph a lot of parts to email to myself and others. And photograph everything I need to remember it's easier to click a pic than write it down.

In all honesty probably not a lot if you’re just calling, texting and emailing, camera might be better on the s7 I think. Are you a member of a farmers buying group? Unless it’s a Apple product the deals my group get are impossible to get close to.
