The ferry company with no ferries might be stranded in a port that isn’t a port

Chris Grayling in January: "The reality is that this has been looked at very carefully by a team of civil servants who have done due diligence on the company and have reached a view they can deliver. I make no apologies for supporting a new British business."

So he relied on some no doubt well paid CS to do due diligence and their cock up is somehow his fault? Have they resigned or been sacked ?

The bit of that statement about supporting a new British business is a bit misleading, when it was an Irish shipping company who were going to supply the boats and would've been receiving most of the money but it really is a non story that has been half told and over hyped by the anti Brexit media.

But where do they find these "experts" and who appoints them.?
The experts didn't do anything wrong, they recommended Seaboure Freight on the basis that they were being backed by Arklow Shipping, who were supplying the boats. Lazy reporting by remoaner journalists was the problem all along. Once Seaborne lost the backing of Arklow the contract was withdrawn

Just amazed people on here have no idea on how brown envelopes work. There is a perceived problem on the Irish border, The solution appeared to be a brown envelope to an Irish company but the rug has been pulled so someone has not been able to keep their mouth shut.

So Chris Grayling was really supporting an Irish company and not a British one

Who knew?
Maybe the people who published Grayling`s quote. Who were they, apart from you?
As it now seems to be established that the shipowners pulled the plug, did they have a better offer, or even an EU bung to develop a direct ferry route to mainland Europe ? There are reports that Ramsgate does not have the money to resurrect and update the old ferry terminal and Ostend at the other side of the water is in a similar position.
A few possible reasons to consider that strongly point towards an anti government and or Brexit plot.

Lest we forget...

Note the tone of incredibility of the journalist's questions over and over again especially about the due diligence. Sounds like she did more background research on Seaborne Freight than Failing Grayling ever did and could tell that it was all going to end in tears...
