@wellingtonfarmer , i have a choice of young bulls, the oldest being 13 1/2 months currently, i also have 2 2 year old bulls, they will both be at the breed sale at Newark market in a fortnight, Saturday 23rd March. Our herd is high health, BVD accredited & Johnes level 1, IBR and Lepto monitored free & BVD & IBR vaccinated. ANy questions give me a shout 07971 795762. Many thanks. Angus

@AF Salers I Know and I didn't do it to get in an argument, both breeds have there place and fit well in to British conditions. Good luck at the sale, I understand we have Scott Donaldson taking the sale, he is Joint MD of H & H. It should be very interesting. Salers have a little Lincoln in them way back as they were used to revive the breed after the war!

Go and advertise your Lincoln reds somewhere else!

He asked about a saler bull.


Coincidentally one of my friends is having a fair time trying to calve heifers to a lincoln red. Said he'd have to put Lincoln red on saler cows in future.

Yes, it pisses me off when someone feels the need to push there chosen breed all the time. Different breeds will suit different management styles, areas etc. If a breed is perfect farmers will soon work it out and they'll be everywhere.

How many posts about Lincoln reds have you made this morning?
