Tried them and they didn’t want to know.
On my property side I had 1 million debt with 2 million equity. I was after getting it all under 1 roof and at the time I wanted to buy a fairly high risk venture. I’m sure it would have been ok but they said no .
Asset rich cash poor :)
I'm amazed. Our overdraft is only £15k, mortgage of £250k and we've been with them for 20 years. Excellent service.

It may be because we have a debt:asset ratio better than 1:8 though.

Expensive but meant to be good.

It depends what you want from a bank

Whatever you do don’t go Clydesdale!

We are with Clydesdale and have a manager we can ring/local Ag office.

He comes out once a year to flatter/threaten as he feels the annual accounts warrant, we all sit round the kitchen table and take the flattery/threatening with a pinch of salt, wave him off and carry on as we think best.

Isn’t that all anyone wants from their bank?

Edit: We did have a covenant that was quite hard to hit as a target and thus meant he had to mention that he might need to up his interest rates. Happily he’s managed to get the covenant favourably tweaked for so ideally it will just be flattery with the tea and biscuits next year!

Yes, talk a load of boll'acks for an hour, then the manager asks how much money you want for the coming year. And how much its going to cost you, my old man used to say"how much" no wonder were stuck in the red all the time.:ROFLMAO:

@Doing it for the kids Clydesdale! Explain! I deal with an office in Glasgow and I am in rural Lincolnshire. I hate it! No face to face contact anymore.
WB

Years ago they were very good.

Manager left and they published his private mobile as the new managers one!

I think their system if flawed so no matter how good the manager is his hands are somewhat tied.

Their online banking portal is IMHO seriously dated. Transactions just sent don’t appear for ages so no way to tell if it’s sent.

We wil move at some point when we get to it

I’d recommend Barclays. They still have Agricultural managers who come and visit once a year. Nice bloke too.

My old Barclays manager was tip top he went through the business every year and asked some fairly reaching reasonable questions. Over the years he probably gave better advice than my accountant .He was more grounded and didn’t blow smoke ip somewhere!
I’d still be with him now but don’t really need a business account anymore.
I’m aware that he’s not available to all customers in the area as you needed a certain level of borrowing to be with him.
