Not a great trade at Shrewsbury today but about as expected.
Really well finished lambs, deserved a bit more really but they just don’t want the heavy lambs right now. 42-45kgs the limit price and weight wise.

Same thing happened two years ago. Hogg prices were pretty stagnant up until around now, a lot of feeders thought weight was the way out of them but same as now heavies we’re same or less than handy weights. I remember a lot of hoggs sold store that were overweight and or fat in the stores around now. Some were sold private between dealer to dealer by weighing the wagons 150ppk right through that had been on roots and hoppers. The crack was that they wouldn’t lift. They did lift almost immediately some folk weren’t very happy
