Poor old forum is getting a bit depressing these days, like @The Ruminant I devote a fair bit less time to it lately because of the same dreary repetitive bullshìt - it's not you guys I've lost interest in; merely the negative, Eeyorish attitude that pervades the rest of the outfit.
I remembered just last week... when I was dealing with my alcoholism, I went to one AA meeting and realised that if I kept going back I would end up just like those poor sods - so I never went along again and managed my booze habit out by myself.
Social media seems to now be having a similar effect - I seem to be getting more enjoyment from looking at old grass turning green than I do discussing all the whys and what-if-only-we-coulds..
so don't you apologise for what you think is off-topic, it's all interconnected and real and relevant
The only 2 threads I ALWAYS look at are this one and Roy's.
@martian posts some good stuff as well but it tends to get shouty after a while. (Not his fault).
I just had a quick look at @Clive 's "book" thread.
FFS - this really is a sad & miserable place isn't it. If this is truly representative, then U.K. Ag really deserves to collapse
I just can't believe the attitudes expressed, these sort of mindsets are just completely outside of my own agricultural experiences I find it hard to believe it's not just some sick joke or lame stereotype. Unfortunately, it appears to be real
I think I'll just retreat back out of here into the reality of a more open & vibrant agricultural industry I'm familiar with
See ya . . .
