stick with me you'll get an education boyYeh, I'm still trying to stop laughing at all the new words I learnt when you got stuck (twice)
Do you mind me asking how much this cost?
Have a beautiful self seeded oak that's chosen to come up near to some power lines, would like to move it out into a field but unsure of the costs involved.
300 quid
Its not cheap
The daily hire charge for that machine is £1200+vat. I managed to get 11 trees shifted, and probably could have done a couple more if needed, so the per tree cost was about £100. Obviously the amount you can do in a day depends on a) the distance you're shifting them, and b) how hard the ground is for getting the spades in.
I did have even more expensive quotes from other contractors. Trouble is the main customer for this sort of work is basically people with money - country estates wanting things to look just so, golf courses wanting things moved around, developers needing trees shifted to clear sites, local authorities, that sort of thing. So its not farm prices........I decided to be a bit extravagant because 2018 was a good year financially and didn't want to lose 6 nice little oaks that had managed to get going all by themselves. Getting the hawthorns shifted as well was a bonus.
Blade is for backfilling drainage trenches. Bomford Powerdozer. You been reading the loaded up and trucking topic with all that strapping lol

They used to drag the barth trencher on an air braked low loader. It has compressor and tank with air feed to take the park brake off but I think the trailer brakes were manually operated from the seat rather than on foot pedal.Air compressor on side?
Maybe not the quickest but always made a good job of whatever they did. Friend of mine has been moving the trencher in recent times with his fastrac. They used to drag the barth trencher on an air braked low loader. Hell of a set up 30 plus years ago.

I’d say design fault! The rubber perishes then the button drops out, should be more of a mechanical button cover I’d say.Why do the gearstick buttons on John Deere not last ?
The I’m sure it’s possible if you took the time. The actual switch unit is separate the the handle, think I’ve binned the old one thoughcan you take it apart,. can you machine a bit plastic which is fitted from the back

Only a 5 minute job to swap it, about £60-70 for a cover!depends how long they last
if a customers tractor ,. may not cost affective
I was told once by a fitter, oily/greasy hands make them perish a lot quicker. Not sure if it was true or one of them ear wives tales you hear aboutI’d say design fault! The rubber perishes then the button drops out, should be more of a mechanical button cover I’d say.
I’m sure it will be oil resistant rubber but probably doesn’t help having oil on it.I was told once by a fitter, oily/greasy hands make them perish a lot quicker. Not sure if it was true or one of them ear wives tales you hear about
