Hi.

Yesterday my hydraulics filter blocked, i put new filter on but now again today blocked again,
i took the gearbox cover of and it is full of steel shavings i then start to clean it out with diesel, when i was doing that i found 4 pieces of steel in the bottom of the gearbox ( see the attache picture )

Can anyone tell me where exactly the small steel plates come from, because everything looks ok in the gearbox

the problem will be your brake discs have broken up either one side or both the parts in your photo look like the lugs off the plates in your pto pack dont worry about those too much . sort your brakes out first

Thanks, is it are Big job to fix the PTO?
Brakes is not more than 40h old but maybe the workshop not have used some time to clean it properly,

The “ shavings “ is also metal

get a photo of the shavings please
the pto pack you need to remove the top link bracket then take the shaft out then take the left hand side plate off you will then be able to see the pto pack above the handbrake . on the top of the main casting there is a core plug knock that out the use a 13 mm socket to remove the locating bolt that is screwed into the top of the pack then slide the pack back

Them lugs look like there off the speed shift plate on early ones they had 3 lugs on disc then went to 6 lugs. ,there was then a later one which went to a multi disc.does the speed shift work ? Put a bar under the output shaft in gear box shouldn’t have any movement ,bearing use to fail which run in side the two shafts

also you have to understand that the parts that you have found might have been there years and the part has been replaced so everything might work ok apart from that the metal you have found looks very much like filings from the brakes. so i would clean it the best you can and run it

They do look like speed shift lugs but how would they escape from the speed shift housing?
