What are the ones to look out for now?

Something for a quick check of the back of the combine/out in the field that wont break the bank.

I'll revert to my tried and trusted Marconi back at the yard but want something quick and easy to use in combine/tractor.

Range of crops, oats, wheat, barley, WOSR, Linseed.

Had 2 Protimeters and quite honestly they are rubbish, you are most welcome to them for the postage. I also have a Marconi and like you wanted something mobile, I now use a Unimeter Digital, have and had zero issues at all with it, been faultless and just reading the FWI article on it, if you have trouble grinding a sample you are either a vegan or a girl, very very simple to use, found it very accurate and not had to send it away for service/callibration at vast expense like the Protimeters.
Did I mention I hate Protemeters.

I use a Sinar ... not terribly portable but it’s fab.
I’ve just signed up to the MCal system.
They send you a dry sample twice a year .... you weigh out a special amount, take its temperature and plug your meter into your computer.... after inputting some figures it calibrates it spot on.

Just saying

At harvest time, I like to keep a firm grip on my wile.

Wile 78. It's ace. Made in a proper country. They sent me a new brush when mine broke even out of warranty!

For those of you using whole grain meters, how do you find them when using a continuous flow drier? I've been reluctant to use mine for anything changing moisture rapidly in case it gives a false reading. I prefer ones with a grinder and temperature correction for this kind of work.

We got a Perten AM5800 a couple of years ago, we didn't put anything through the drier last year, but it seemed to cope okay in 2017 what drying we did.
