Had the drainage gang on ours today after numerous issues with a spring that kept moving around in one of our heaviest fields. They found a possibly Victorian chamber and a flat bottom drain (neither are mapped or known about and the field has been in the family for a long time) on the end of one we know about. They got flooded out when they hit the chamber!

Took the chance to assess the structure. This land used to be unworkable without months a weathering. Things looking ok now with ultra low disturbance cultivation (no im not direct drilling!)

Found a bit of a branch blown 50 yards into a field in the winter, I can't remember having a North wind that strong.

it's not buried very deep he said.

That'll be the same one I struggle to miss most years with the loader.

Maybe next year it will be buried rather than covered in muck.

Expensive day today. Calf was on its side with its head back and body bent in a U shape. Only one way it was coming out and that was through the side door. Surprisingly the calf was still alive and is doing well

5713, about 18 months old. Very happy with it. The bigger tyres make a big difference to it.
