had a bit of trouble with my ritchie weigh crate , dial scales , all sorted now , just wondered what other options are available to replace dial , looked at electronic but do you need to remove load bars every time you move it , and what about power supply ? my crate needs to be easy to move about and waterproof as it sometimes gets left outside between jobs ,
anyone have a link for new dial for my outfit (150kg) couldnt find any companies that supply them

I leave my weigh bars out all year, they bounce about in the back of the Scotpen
I have once had loose wires that i had to sort but otherwise fine---they are surprisingly robust

@Allied Weighing can sort you with a replacement for the dial scale. No need to remove for transport as it is a load cell that replaces the dial directly - with the crate suspended from it in the same way as for the dial.
Other brands are available .
thats good as i assumed the load bars (cell) were always underneath the crate , so i can still use the wheels etc ?

@andybk , yes correct you can still use as normal ie wheel it about. I converted my IAE crate with a kit from @Allied Weighing about 3 years ago now and it was one of my better decisions. Crate gets left out plenty but i always remove the weigh head as worried about it getting stolen.

We're the same, take weigh head off when done. It stands up to rain well, @Allied Weighing are really good if you're struggling to set it up (I had incorrect length off the bottom of the load cell, so it was weighing wrong) just a phone call and a couple of pictures sent i and I was away

i have a digital Ritchie lamb weigh which uses a suspended cell. Really simple to use but not to sure who it fairs if left outside (you can soon take it off). Has bi-folding gates as well which makes it really quick to use. Cost about £600 18 months ago for the whole thing

we use an ezi weigh bar/feet battery operated so portable that weve made platforms that can carry various types of either livestock crush, big bags bales, feed, etc and is a bit of kit that we wouldnt be without, as grandad said you stop selling when you stop weighing. We also make frequent use of the local weighbridge. every year I look at putting.in a weighbridge ,one of these days we will as it will pay far better than a lot of the shiny new gear

Shameless plug but I’ve got one one of these surplus to requirements. Does average weight, drafting, group size and average, total number etc.
I’m away for two weeks:happy::happy::happy::happy: but PM me and I’ll speak when I get back
