Weed wiping blackgrass

Hi all, thinking out loud, has anyone ever tried weed wiping blackgrass when it is stuck out above the wheat? Does the bg stick out above the crop high enough to not wipe too much wheat at the same time? Interested to hear if anyone has any experience. Thanks

Not yet tried it in wheat but recently did it in herb crops. Absolutely decimated the blackgrass where it was tall enough, but no use on the smaller plants hiding in the crop obviously.

Why would you think it will lead to resistance problems? Surely not if a high enough dose of glyphosate is used from the start?

That was my thinking, a small dose of say, 50/50 gly/water mix will hit a plant much harder than 4litre/ 150 water even though the quantity hitting the plant is way smaller? Would glyphosate be absorbed through the seed heads, and kill all the tillers and not just the plant that was wiped? Or would the target have to be the stem of the b/grass plant.

Yes does work

roundup ultimate 540g,and thicker than normal 360, ,and oil ,no water ,in the carrier roller weed wiper ,does work ,as said above if bg is big enough above wheat , but you need the skinniest row crops on ,as its 6 m , and dont turn round and go through it again to double dose , as where it brushes under tractor it will kill wheat ,you get nice big brown lines ,
Am sure there was a 12 m one in fw ,or was it farmers guide to sell

I've been thinking on this for years.
Looked at different options.
Made a handheld one, it worked.
But to be honest just wandering with a handheld sprayer does me now.
I have observed the BG emerging .
By the time it's above the crop enough to consider wiping, it's often shedding, ours down here, or at least mine, doesn't seem as vigorous as further up country.

I watched my Bateman booms , tried to keep them rubbing BG but not wheat.
Impossible, it needs wheels under it, and also constant height adjustment as the crop varies in height same as BG
