3 inch Spoked Gauge wheels

We are looking to order a new 4 mtr 750A and would like to fit it with a narrower 3 inch wide spoked gauge/depth wheel.
Is this a possibility ex factory or will we need to fit Needham or Mudsmith options sourced from the States?

We were running the needham narrow spoked gauge wheels. We have gone back to a wider tyre still spoked but find the needham tyre was too hard.
Still running a us sourced rim and spoke. The jd ones don’t last in stones.

Know of a drill In nz that has been narrowed up using the narrower tyre. It worked ok.

Might be more trouble than it's worth.
Allen drills are all the talk up here at present but at the end of the day it's still just a triple disc albeit with the option of a 5 1/2 inch row spacing.

Both, but mainly rye and clover into pasture.
The big push is narrower row spacings or the alternative is cross drilling ( 2 passes in different directions)
Always difficult to get single disc openers with gauge wheels down under 160 mm spacings.

I
I drill around 1000ac of pasture (clover and arg) every year. Both tiller out and provide a perfect sward. Never once cross drilled. Long irrigation bays with checkbanks every 70m make it impossible .
I agree with you entirely as that's what we have successfully done for the past 25 years.

In the clay country the John Deere with a serated closing wheel should do a better job than an Allen’s custom.
On the steeper country though it’s not such a issue. So depends where you are.
And then there’s the fert/non fert decision. In the terrain and soils I cover both drills have their place. I’m trying to get an Allen’s to complement the JD drill we have.
