We tend to vary price to suit the area, but as a starter we pay £50 per bale we wrap, if we supply plastic we give £2.20 and are preferred way is we supply plastic and the grass for the bargain of giving the customer £7!
Of course we do vary our price for larger amounts so the more we do the more we pay!
And we supply our own diesel.
We can keep our prices keen because we only use up to year old 280hp tractors and brand new wrappers.

If you think I’m taking the p wait till you see some of the real prices!![emoji16]

Don’t be an idiot. Work out what your rate should be, based on your costs. And do that before you decide to buy a wrapper.

If I say the rate is £1/bale, and you need £2 to cover your costs, you’re stuffed.

£2.50 a bale to wrap and they supply the plastic. No moaning about charging per roll, charged for full roll and some left over, 4 layers instead of 6 etc then querying the price and quality of the plastic. You turn up wrap and go. Works out doing my own at £5.50 inc plastic but you wouldn’t get that round here charging. Hence why they supply their own materials.

To be honest it’s not worth the headache at times. I bought it to do our own. Picked several customers up and do more and more but very rare they compliment the job. Always quick to ask, query, find and pick faults or drop you for someone else.

Is it really only £2.50 to bale and wrap? Heck the job gets worse:banghead:

No £2.40 to bale I charge. Owned old baler that does a cracking job and doesn’t warrant renewing.

£2.50 to wrap only (no plastic).

Costs me to do my own £5.50 in plastic and wrapping cost but couldn’t charge that as I wouldn’t get any work so only wrap for customers who supply their own wrap.

I think we pay approx £2.40ish to wrap 6 layers with plastic supplied for contractor. He never comes and does under 180 bales though. He baled 430 bales in a long afternoon for us a fortnight ago.

round bales round here are £2 to wrap a bale using customers fuel and customers wrap..i charge £2 I have a loyal small customer base I don't go chasing work, happy just to keep the regulars happy. I run an older paid for tractor but do have a good quality hs2000 wrapper which up til now runs well, I didn't pay much for it and it payed for its self the first year.

You and i have gone to war over this before but you must be the dearest in the country at £3.25 to apply customer supplied wrap, i would start contracting if that was the going rate
I wouldn’t go to war over wrapping bales we’ve done over 9000 so far this season no one has been let down been there as agreed wrapper can pull in field and wrap any size square or round by changing settings in cab over £30k the wrapper is to buy plus a tractor in front not the best of jobs it’s a bit like a livestock hauliers and low loader drivers working at ends of the day when everyone else has gone home I don’t care what anybody else charges we are not going out to work for wages we are going out to make money and provide a service
That costs

Is this just wrapping or wrapping and stacking? Someone asked me to go wrap and stack 3x3 squares with 8 layers of plastic (their plastic) I said 3.50 and was under cut by a quid. I lost less sleep not doing the job than doing it.
