This old girl's 40th harvest has begun!

Lovely. What's the deal then, knife driven from both ends and a wide dividing finger int middle, or do two knife's overlap?

Two knives, one in each table, both driven, in time with each other. One section overlaps from table to it's neighbour and back again, hence a full width cut.

That's the only thing to remember when you fold her up, that the knife on the LH table is fully out. :)

Very interesting, I guess the two auger sections somehow locate into each other too to run as a complete unit too? How wide a cut is it?

No, both augers run separately, and independently. If you get a lump to slip the auger clutch, one will stand while the other is still spinning. Reels are separate, but run on the same oil circuit.

14ft, there was a 18ft option, but that was super rare!!

One day Claas will catch up! They've got a split reel, but that's about it!
They've had folding headers for years, they fold horizontally rather than vertically

Remember being taken to Watson and Haig in Andover by my father to watch a promotional film about the Lely Victory, must have been about 10, over 50 years ago.

I think @AgriCro had videos of lexions being used with locally made folding headers. I find that how much faff there is in header changes a lot depends on design of trailer
