Presumably any Sierra Wireless router will work, as they share a common AT based command structure?

The GX450s are good but quite dear, and getting on a bit now too. You can get even cheaper ruggedised units now like the LX60 and RV50 / RV55 that run full speed LTE/4G and have WiFi, Ethernet and serial ports.

I suppose you are right. Trimble push their gear and all reselers don't care about any other solutions.
But time is change and you can find a lot of good solutions other than Trimble or Topcon. People have start to think their own head. Chineese helped with electronics. :)

Yes, all Trimble gear is a more than dear. They made a complete solution for everything, nice packed and good looking so a customer just need to press the button.
