It’s not been a easy harvest so far - about 30% though the wheat now, odd bits flat but not too bad.

Not panicking just yet but we are nowhere near as wet as some seem to be

Yields seem reasonable, quality seems to be there and prices are decent enough really (maybe with the exception of oats !)

Think since that lovely day of 34 deg we have had 4 days with no registered rainfall according to the local wunderground station 1km away

Not quite scotland but this picture is common after a fortnight of wet/dry/wet and a weekend of wet/wet/wet.

OSR probably another week away yet but all still standing. Some of the swathed stuff around looks terrible. First of the SB will be sprayed off tomorrow. The only bits down are the overlaps. Not sure if it’s going to be a glorious harvest or a salvage job.

1985 was mid-October harvest and the last one for many round here. Lashings of Propcorn and spread a foot deep around 30% moisture saved it for feed. Not to be repeated

Was going to have a tickle tomorrow , until just now ...
Rained after dinner here, enough to stop everyone locally, now it’s at it again . My son is combining wheat in Ludlow at 17%( unsprayed). It’ll be September before this settles down

Ground is dry but plenty of wheat crops around me are as flat as a pancake, move 50 miles to south devon where they have had less rain its all still standing proud!

I would guess harvest is about 30% complete here!

Local farmer cutting wheat tonight after heavy rain yesterday and overnight, he didnt know the moisture content when I spoke to him but had told his combine driver to keep cutting regardless of how high it is!
