Matbro Teleram 3 - retrofit boom suspension/soft ride

After some guidance about what im doing wrong! Purchased a kit from KRAMP with 2 accumulators 15 & 25 bar and a solenoid. I have plumbed "T" into lift hose by spool block. The only thing I noticed when its turned on is hydraulics are initially slower when first lifting. My guess is the check valve or self levelling is probably my issue but im not a hydraulics person so could be anything really. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Your wasting your time and money it wont work, the check valve on the ram isn't designed to work with boom suspension.

Not the answer I was hoping for already fitted doubt they will take it back, can I not change check valve any other solutions...???

In theory, could it not be teed in between the check valve ( which I assume is a hose burst protection valve?), and the cylinder ?
Not sure how feasible that is on that machine though? And it would obviously compromise the integrity of the hose burst protection. So would probably be frowned upon by insurance possibly? But in theory I can’t see why it wouldn’t work?

Hi, thanks for your thoughts. I’m going to speak with a cylinder repair specialist to see if he can do what you suggest. Do you know how the burst protection valve works when boom is lowered. I can understand how it holds load up but can’t get my head round how it lowers which I assume it allows oil to bypass somehow?? Thanks again

I’m sorry, I don’t know how your particular machine is set up. And I’m not saying it’s advisable or not, that’s your call. But it is possible to make it work I think. Most of the factory systems will be mounted directly on the cylinder I think, so there are no hoses involved in that bit.

Hose burst valves are usually activated by some sort of servo pressure, the servo pressure opens the valve and lets the oil flow in both directions.

you could never make it legal, all check valves or lock valves are set differently according to the max weight, geometry and size of ram and flows required, no one is going to work all that out exactly and put there name to it to say its safe.

accumulators tend to be before the check valves yes, with solenoids to switch them on and off accordingly, ie once above a certain height they should turn off cause machine can become unstable, when you work the joystick they need to turn off so the boom functions as normal.

its just not worth the hassle of even trying cause its never going to be right and legal.

Its nearly a 30 year old machine, its managed this long with out it why worry about adding it now!
