Big wheat crop coming this year I’ve sold 3/4 of mine for January rightly or wrongly

In some areas I can see this will be the case but look at the bigger uk picture and flat crops / weather in the north and Scotland seems to be doing a lot of damage

Most of what we have cut so far that looked amazing has turned out predictably average !

Anyone had results on quality milling wheats ? I can see a lot won’t make the grade if harvest stays as wet as it’s been so far

What happened to the USA being in a big mess re flooding and planting ?

USDA report seems to ignore all that ?

Its' a big country, certain areas it was devastating but modern genetics being what they are........ better able to cope with some poor conditions and still come thru.
Obviously many corn / bean acres will produce nothing but most accounts point to a good wheat harvest..........local to me spring malting barley crops (irrigated) look amazing, just getting ready to swath, talk of 180-200 bushel potential........4 ton plus acre.

Doubt what happens up here will make much odds to prices if a bumper crop elsewhere.
Only 100,00ha of wheat up here.
England has 16 times that.

Agreed and milling not making spec will just make feed pile even bigger no idea about brexit but I’ll be bringing in the same £££ as last year roughly so I’ve bailed out

Haven’t had hagberg on my first 30acs but protein was 12.6. Good yield though

USDA has a history of suiting agenda IME and not always turning out to be accurate

However as a earlier post pointed out the USA is a BIG place

USDA don't encourage shocks in the market - that's their main agenda. Bad news is brought out slowly. It still moves markets. Odd that they think yields will be up overall.
