Thanks for the advice and comments from my previous post yesterday! There are colour charts that have appeared . As some has said, it's the starting and prep I hate but hey ho see what happens.
Some may have seen in "What grinds your gear" that I had a bad day Monday with machinery woes and unfortunately none have been resolved yet so in away my machinery problems are "helping" as obviously I need to get them fixed so I am off to dealers and trying various things to solve the problems which means I m not available for decorating !! (Yet)

Wheat sprouting stood up here... Only just standing mind, think tomorrow’s deluge and 45mph winds could flatten it. Ground conditions are from mud to underwater, ditches topped over last weekend and not had chance to drop.

nearly 5" of rain fell over us from last fri morning upto tonight now
Had showers every day this week since, tried the rape again mid afternoon & even drizzle in the air we kept going, stuck twice, tractor pulled it out backwards that strong chain i
bought in 2012 is worth its weight in gold.
But the land is in a sorry state now its as wet as it gets by the end of Oct when you really shouldnt be on it.
some rape is trying to sprout in the pods can you believe it. ive never seen that before.
Ready to chuck the towel in i can tell you

Let's hope for a better week for you .
Our weather problems down here seem trivial to yours.

Feel guilty posting this! We have done really well with the weather in NE lincs 70% of wheat cut before this interruption, most of it below 16% moisture. For us high yields, better than last year, though I don’t have a weighbridge, I think it will be a record here. Second wheat yields just as high as first which is unusual for us.

While here in plain north Lincolnshire have done almost nothing so far.

1/2" here yesterday.
Got some pleasing news on the Costello, bushel is 84.9kg.
Might actually have yielded bit better than I thought, dont normally have to gear down to 7th to get up the hill on the road home.

There does seem to be an unfortunate east west divide. Though our larger neighbours are just finishing their OSR. Which is probably more of a comparison with you. Us tiddlers have plenty of combine capacity!

Loads of combine capacity here. Just wheat that won't die! Looks like we will make a good dent in it next week which is good.
