Serious question
I know the Poms have embraced sh!t flavourless lagers, but does anyone really drink Fosters there ?
I know it's the UK stereotype of Australia - but it's just not drunk here . You don't see it in pubs or bottle shops

I would say a lot off fosters is sold in the lower end pubs in the northwest England where the scum of the earth tend to drink away there lives.
I’ve predominantly been either Guinness or a Bitter drinker but this last year or so I’ve been drifting into craft beers and pale ales etc as I’ve found even though they are stronger abv I don’t get a thick head off them. They are probably a cleaner brew.
I always remember as a youngster drinking Becks vier, hells bells that made me ill every week I’m sure it was just pure chemicals.

Not good...

Thames Valley Police officer killed in Berkshire https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-49368649

Far from you @holwellcourtfarm ?

10 men between 13 and 30 arrested. As much as I hate to admit it, my first thought was that it suggests a certain group of nomadic, caravan dwelling types. One mustn’t jump to conclusions of course, but...
An hour away. I've driven that road many times though on the way in to our old EA regional HQ.

The news was full of the fact that UK crims are no longer scared of the police a few days ago. It seems that it's now open season on emergency staff ?

Personally I have huge admiration for most police, fire and ambulance staff and think attacking one with intent should be a life term crime.

Absolutely! They walk an almost impossibly fine line. Damned if they do and damned if they don’t. Boris’ 20,000 new cops are sorely needed and they should all carry taser!

My mate was a probationer when the White City (Tottenham) riots happened where PC Keith Blakelock was hacked to death with a machete and was on reserve to go in if they ran out of experienced coppers. I firmly believe when things get THAT bad the police should be withdrawn and the army sent in instead with live fire rights to defend life. Police officers don't sign up to offer their lives.
