I notice they left out the 'normal ingredients' in a typical supermarket sausage though.

Pork 56%, Water, Rice Flour, Pork Rind, Pork Fat, Salt, Stabiliser (Disodium Diphosphate), Dextrose, Bamboo Fibre, White Pepper, Ginger, Nutmeg, Mace, Yeast Extract, Preservative (Sodium Metabisulphite), Caramelised Sugar Syrup, Flavouring, Antioxidant (Ascorbic Acid), Paprika Extract.

If you want to 'fight fire with fire' being economical with the truth does not help IMHO.
The vegans dont let the truth get in the way of smearing us. Its a dirty war, lets fight dirty too.

Is already happening. Yesterday was a particularly active day on the pro meat front on Facebook, as many, many posts were shared and an alternate viewpoint was offered up to the vegan assault.

I'd say that farmers have grasped the nettle thatthey're going to have to do it for themselves. We don't need anyone's permission, and, do we not value our own industry enough to fight for it ourselves?

It IS hypocritical to criticise the synthetic elements of an alternative product while your own product contains similar synthetic components. It's then disingenuous to leave them out of the list of your own products' ingredients, or in other words lying.

Like I said, I support the principles of promoting meat and the health benefit associated with it. I WILL NOT condone doing so by lying to people.

Thank you for mentioning my parents, as it lets me shoehorn in the fact they used to supply the Royal Yacht with top notch organic lamb.

No, my products don’t contain any additives or ‘E Numbers’ when they leave the farm or any of the other stuff that you’ve found in your sausages, beyond what can be measured in ‘parts per billion’.

I choose my markets and ‘end users’ on their provenance and actively avoid certain destinations. I like to think of people eating and benefiting from my farms produce, that the time and effort put into husbandry and fertility is carried forward to the consumer in the form of nutrient dense food.

I’ve done my bit. If the consumer wants to buy and eat the cheapest sh!t available from the supermarket, or consume industrially produced fusarium or emulsions of vegetable oil and synthetic additives to follow the latest health trend, then that’s their (and your) choice.

Hate to tell you, but theres a fair chance that some of it does contain succinic acid - the stuff @Clive wants to lambast veggie food for containing.

I can see why you are a Left Whinger.

Most of those ingredients are fine AND you know it. Personally I'd chose a butchers sausage anyway.

The OP is excellent, as others have said it makes people think twice about the rubbish that is in a lot of 'eco-friendly' food. The farming industry should be bombarding the public with this sort of message.

Eat a lamb chop and you maintain a grassland habitat, support biodiversity, remove CO2 from the atmosphere, and preserve soil structure.

Save the planet: Eat red meat.

The OP is poor, very poor. Yours is better, but how many of the ingredients listed for a veggie sausage are also in a meat one?

Fight lies with truth, and I’m good. Fight it with bigger lies and I’d rather you didn’t use my industry as your liar.

Have a real problem with this as anyone with a Gluten allergy will tell you it is very difficult finding traditional sausages that do not contain Gluten yet no mention in your real sausage.
That’s not true, my little boy can’t have gluten and none of the Aldi sausages have it in, and I don’t think the sainsbury’s Own brand do either

How about this??

We get some of the main big name veggie/vegan/fake alternatives to good old fashioned genuine foods. We get somebody to list the ingredients using all the "correct" terms, i.e. E numbers if appropriate. We then publish these as a comparison to the genuine food on any social media platform we can, school/college principal, BBC, etc.

Someone use a bit of media/software knowledge to present it in a professional way without any of it able to be claimed as fake news

We then also get some genuine info on greenhouse gas emissions/sustainability etc to compare BRITISH pasture fed beef and lamb and sustainable BRITISH pork, chicken, eggs, etc with vegan foods that may include soya, palm oil, corn, imported irrigated veg etc. We do the same exercise on saving the planet.

Fight them on 2 fronts, food ingredients and saving the planet

Succinic acid - a natural acid found in broccoli, fresh meat, cheese etc. It's probably in most meat burgers too ffs.

If you're going to stake a claim for being superior, then do so with integrity. The ASA would never allow the infographic you have there, and rightly so.

What are the ASA doing about the BBC and anti farming loby selective facts and reporting ?

And it is a FACT that quorn contains palm oil and that meat free sausages don’t grow on a vine, there is nothing not factual in the picture I posted or the claims another member made about quorn

Fight fire with fire as the thread title suggests - no wonder farmers are media cannon fodder reading some of the responses to this thread !!

in order for things like succinic acid to be listed as a separate ingredient, they must have been added in separately, not occur naturally. Hence why on a broccoli it doesn’t say succinic acid or indeed have an ingredients list!
