Tales of fiat tractors.

Nice one 90/90. As l said a guy about 5miles from me has a brand new New holland in the fiat colours, that will be an upgrade from 20years ago. Looks smart has a loader on it aswell.

Dad ran a couple of fiat's back in the 80's....he bought a new Norton silage trailer in fiat orange too...ill try and dig a picture out over the weekend.... P.s I use to sit on with him on a coat on the left side on a lever...not sure if it was the pto clutch lever or the handbrake....spent hours on there...

Yes, cheapy cab had that curved window, that 180/90 still looks a beast even today. They must have been cheap back in the day, for us to change one every other year, can't do it these days, lm not sure, l beat that 80/90 we got new in 1992 would cost maybe 16 grand, never asked the price of it, don't know the price of a new 90hp tractor these days probably 45. No idea to frightened to ask.
Trouble is 90hp tractor at 45k today will be a pice of sh!t compared to a 90hp fiat, my m reg 100 90 was 21 k new had a tb turbo 130 hp at the shaft , more tourqe than anything else going. You would need a 170 hp tractor today to get same power and you would have to use ad blue extra cost more service repair costs

Dad had a few. A couple of 580s both 2wd. Still got one of them with a chilton loader. An 80-90 and then 88-94. What a difference the turbo made and the whistle :love:
Yes they had their faults. Rusting body work, iffy brakes but heck they could pull.

I had an 88/94 in the early 90's

Pump was turned to just shy of 100hp at the shaft about 6000 hours before I got it.

Put an airseat in it because the standard mechanical ones was too uncomfortable at the speeds the thing would pull at, while chucking black reek in the faces of the tractors it overtook ?

He bought the best fiats that we're made the 880 was miles ahead of most tractors at the time ,the f 115 were a bit dead a 11090 was a pluckier tractor but not as comfortable
