How long have the Pro Series openers been out? I wonder what's they will be like after they have a lot of work. I had a demo of a 6m yesterday and can see why there is so much to maintain. I only saw one grease nipple.

It hair pinned a lot of chopped straw into the slit but otherwise I can see why you all love these drills.

If you mix lithium and ep2 it goes solid did this then had to remove the guage wheel stub and clean before it could be re greased!

No we’ve been using the exact same grease from day one although @parker hypothysised that what I was using may have reacted to what John Deere had used in the factory

Does anyone know the size and thread of the grease nipples on the coulter? I'm guessing its UNC ? We've lost a couple.

Agree on not mixing grease types did it once never again.

Not replaced a bearing on our 2014 drill put an M12 bolt on every seed tube reduced boot wear significantly and improved seed placement.

Louis are you using chads tubes for fert placement and how far are your shut offs from the fert tube? ie are you getting a lot of dribble lifting out of work?

No I’m using @Clive tubes, @parker has similar I believe. Have a non return just above the tube.

M6 are too slack and M8 way too big so thought they might be 1/4unc?

I thought EP2 and lithium grease were the same, JD use SD polyurea grease at the factory and it doesn’t mix, if you do it can form a hard grey paste.
