Best brand for a dealer to sell is the one that drivers and owners love to drive (spend a day in)with plenty of problems therefore large parts and service revenue. With a quick and efficient parts backup.
This is why the best tractor for reliability may not be best sellers
Your after describing a green and yellow tractor perfectly.

all tractors break down but it is the speed at which it is put right that is important, take MF at the moment there is 84 on going problems with the 77 range these problems started out in the 76 range & only now when there is a yank in charge of the factory in France that these problems will get sorted out most are taking over 300 days to be looked at were as problems with Fendt are looked at with in 7 days & sorted out by 21 days , it is not a quick fit answer this is to stop it from being a problem any more
Go on then give us the list

How come Valtra aren’t more popular if they’re so good?
You should form an owners club if there isn’t one already, it would be super.
our local valtra dealer has sold a lot of tractors in the last few years , but now at 3 or 4 years old they are not buying valtra's again, some places with 3 or 4 of them are buying other tractors this time around for some reason

there were 6 spanner men from all over the Uk asked to go to the factory at the start of the year to try and get a handle on all the problems they have with them and they are going back later this year or the start of next year to see if things have got any better with them, if you think there are no problems open your eyes and talk to the people that have work on them

Well I DO work on them and yes there's problems so I want you to verify all the things wrong so that I am prepared for any that I may have missed.
I'm surprised you weren't ask along to massey to problem solve

This business of a good dealer being the key? When I bought the first fendt with 7500 hours, thought I was set up for life.. Then quickly found out that the engine/transmission/brakes and everything else fails just like the zetor crystal.. only with the fendt, parts were eyewatering and very labour intensive to work on so paying someone to fit them was out.. The supposedly excellent dealer I used seemed to sell everything at full retail and it almost finished us trying to run that tractor. After a while another dealer agreed that the parts were far to dear and offered a decent discount for my older machines.. So it's all very well praising the guys that sort your kit straight away, but it will be built into the price somewhere along the line and not everybody can afford main dealers workshop rates at £60-70 an hour..

friend of ours has been looking at tractor rentals, his problem being his last tractor was out of action for nearly 5 weeks, for warrantry work, no loan tractor. As he uses it for contracting work, no income. He took it to main dealer, nothing happened, so he took the keys/etc, and handed the tractor back, apparently you can do this, if you have makers finance. ?! Upshot is, he cannot get finance. but can hire a 200hp tractor. long term, for about £850 a month, services included, personally I am quite happy swopping ours out every 3/4 years, and owning it. But it did make me think, and wondered if any one knew about it ?

Why would MF ask me after having there tractors for 40 odd years & putting up with all the highs & lows with them we have seen the light at the end of that road & moved away from them, it is all history now
