The shame of the English

Seems shaming the English is quite popular these days. Here is the latest iteration blaming us for yet more of the ills in the world. I was unaware the English stole Welsh coal or steel but you learn something new everyday.

The UK government should pay reparations to Wales for stripping it of its natural resources and “depriving it of its inheritance”, the leader of Plaid Cymru has said ahead of the party’s annual conference.
Writing before the start of the two-day event on Friday, in Swansea, Adam Price said being governed from Westminster had left Wales unable to fulfil its potential and called for a Welsh reconstruction fund to “settle up” for a century of lost time.
“Through the long lens of our nation’s history we see a once resource-rich country ground down into crippling poverty,” said the Welsh nationalist leader in a comment piece seen by the Guardian.
“Today it’s not charity we seek but justice. British rule in Wales has left deep scars. No, it may not have been so bloody, but the human cost in blighted lives is to be measured in the millions.

You shoud read Cordell , you might have some understanding then, with the Dragoons in St Clears and the women in the mines. This is a great series of books.

A novel of 19th-century Wales, with its passion, humour and Celtic sadness. It is the story of a people's struggle, and particularly of young Jethro Mortymer, striving to keep his family alive and tortured by a guilty love for his brother's wife

I have little time for history I am afraid these days, could you summarise your understandings of the matter.

There are some genuinely well-meaning people with them, but most are in it because of ideology that they can never successfully defend when questioned. Many have remarkably sized chips on their shoulders, and others just can't work up the moral courage to admit they are Marxists. Overall, and fortunately, Plaid Cymru are an irrelevance.

We can only negotiate if the Welsh return Monmouthshire to its rightful place in England.

And fully apologise to all the Brummies and other Black-Country folk who have had to endure countless weeks and weeks holidaying in Aberystwyth.
As i live in the shire of monmouth who incidently vot 85 % to 15 % against devoloution ,the cretins from plaid need telling to fek off

Devolution seemed a good idea at the time but now it’s having a negative effect on what is a tiny island. It’s a crying shame to think that folk want to spilt up the Union. We are stronger together, not apart
Is that the European Union or the union of England,Scotland,Wales and Northern Ireland. Whichever ,it’s a crying shame.
