I think it probably would and I think people are .
Not sure if you mean with the front tines working at all or more as a direct drill Coulter’s only?
I’ve not done it but reading in here I think the general opinion is that they are maybe not an out and out direct drill but some are making it work with them ?
Many variables I think , soil type being the biggest you may be good on yours if kind land ?

just acquired a 3 meter, f 300, as dairy farmers, 200 acres, we have been told daft to get, waste of money, and all sorts of neg comments. In the 6 weeks we have had it, we have drilled 25 acres of rape, cross drilled, over seeded 13 acres of grass, again x drilled, with the drill used in direct drill setting, 12 acres of grass, again x drilled, straight behind forage rape, in min til setting, 12 acres x drilled on worked ground, and further acres direct drilled x1 into thin leys. To come 36 acres of hybrid rye behind maize, then spring wheat. If the present results continue, it will be one of the best bits of kit we have bought for years, going forward, we can pop in and overseed any thin ley, or even every ley at half rate, awesome bit of kit.

Do you have many stones?

It looks a bargain, if i had work for it would buy it. Massive output. If we ploughed/pressed our land could go straight in with that.

Be great for stubble turnips/cover crops too.

some in places, haven't had any real problems, we slow down, and just let the drill trickle through, the proof will be in the spring, when we see how thick the leys are. Having used contractors for several years we have been disappointed with leys, not to blame the contractors, but they want the quickest in and out time, and perhaps ground worked a bit shallow, or not firm enough, and of course cross drilling is £30 acre, and by the time you have (or paid) to plough and work, cost of grass seed etc, its got expensive. We started to roll plough ground before power harrow, and noted an improvement in 'take', and to go back to doing the lot ourselves was daunting !! Rolling behind the vaderstat, we have been surprised at how firm it is, normally you can see your tractor wheel marks behind the roller, not any more. We will have 35 acres of hybred rye to go in yet, we will see how it works then. So far, we are like kids with a new toy, and with careful use of a sward lifter, to break any pan, its going to alter the mathamatics of reseeding here, and will enable us to 'top' up thin grass, at our convenience, and a lot cheaper.

Forgot to add it’s got levelling paddles, as well.
Still time for these drills this year ( I hope as bought another ), looking to make room in shed so serious offers considered .

It would be asking a bit but yes ,it really depends if you put the levelling boards in it saps power .
If you use at as a 6m drill it will but if you’re looking to cultivate a lot I think it might struggle

As long as it does what you need , we can only pull 4m up our hills!
really slowed up on ours, ours is 3m, apparently arable boys think they are to small, the field of grass sown last week, just showing, very even, and looks promising. One thing we have really noticed, is how accurate you can get, with seed, seedlings are really evenly spaced, i expect you can see i'm really pleased with it. If it works out like we hope, it is going to blow a massive hole in our reseeding costs, basically, grass seed, deisel, and a bit of time ! Also, anything looking thin, we can just whip over at 1/2 rate seed, at our conveinence.
