Lawrence Summers , Harvard Professor and Economist interviewed on the radio saying he struggles to see how the uk and it's attempts to do expanded trade deals with the US will even feature on the President's Richter scale whilst he deals with real big issues like the China trade war

Didn't two "Harvard Professors" design the "Free Market" system in Russia that led to the collapse of civil society, Oligarchs & now Putin ?

From my weekend reading:
Due to our low [great value] £ we are now rich pickings for cash rich overseas buyers, homing in on the few great industries we have left, to buy them up and sell off the best bits. Can't blame the business owners for taking the cash while they can. :(

Mohammed El arian did a fine job of summing up whats happened to the world since Trump came to power, he reckons Maine Street USA is thriving and the Globalist agenda of Wall Street is dying (Good job too). That my friends is why the Pro globalist media that previously ran this world hates Trump and the possibility of a No deal Brexit so much!

Far more likely is a major world recession, hence the need to be part of a trading block.

Mr Trump has expressed an interest in buying Greenland.

In 1946 a predecessor Mr Truman offered $100million equivalent to about $1billion today. Would have been a steal back then. Mr Trump says he would be doing Denmark a favour. Somewhat ominously he pointed out the USA protects militarily Denmark and other European countries. And China has also intimated it would be interested in doing a deal on Greenland.

So as when a rich man moves in locally and suggest buying some of your land would be a good idea for you, rather than him, what hope does Denmark have in retaining Greenland into the future. And what would be the implications for the world at large.

Interesting times.

Trump had his photo taken in NK. Nothing will come of it. Never has and never will. No matter what Trump says they won't give up their nukes. They live in a state of extreme paranoia and need nukes to ensure the survival of their regime.

The only approach that might work is Trump unconditionally giving them a lot of concessions, aid, money and supplies of all kinds but Trump can't ever agree to anything like that. He is from an era where you 'won' in life by screwing as many people as possible and fudge the consequences.

Trump will not change anything in NK or Iran because his approach has already been tried.

Maybe the Donald believes in Global warming after all.

Or Maybe he wants to just stop China or Russia getting hold of it.

Or they know there’s a lot of oil & gas there.

Does that mean he wants farms to get bigger faster and to employ even less people sooner rather than later? Or is he just twitting more insane rubbish at random, probably to deflect from his betrayal of the Kurds bordering Turkey?

It means America is going to be exporting double or more of food produce into the Rep of China.
Great news for Republican heart lands in USA

My thoughts, how will it affect UK.
I think it will lift world prices, but some where will be exporting less. They will be looking for markets, Brazil Australia etc.

So if we come out of EU & have a government that puts Britain 1st it could be OK
Or we could get Labour.

This deal is huge but not signed off yet.

I just think it highlights how well DT knows his audience if nothing else. Tell farmers he is doing a deal that will allow them to produce more and buy more metal and they won’t sleep for excitement.

I’m with you on the Kurds. It is the worst thing he has done in office.
