Boris is doing well

In general, the arrogance of hardcore remainers is truly shocking in my opinion. The referendum was to remain or leave, it didn't include leave only with a deal. And the argument that we should remain as we didn't vote for a hard brexit is even worse, no one knows the fate of the UK, remain, leave deal, or hard brexit, anyone who claims otherwise is living in fantasy land.

Referendums have to be respected in a democracy, for better or worse, otherwise its a dictatorship. The UK political system is at risk if its not respected.

My prediction is that Boris gets his deal, but I cant see the remain biased Parliament passing it. Where we go from there is anyones guess, and I don’t think there would be the will in the EU to extend a second time to potentially negotiate a 3rd deal, even if Boris puts pen to paper (and I don’t think he will, law or no law)

It would be a massive political shock, but could the queen intervene?

Boris has to undo the damage done by May and Hammond

But your referendum didn't say Leave without a deal either. Only Remain and Leave were on the ballot paper. And therein lies your quandary. Maybe my idea of Leave is different to your idea of Leave. Who should have the final say??

My idea of leave may well be different to yours, but they do have one thing in common, both state leave. Its up to MP’s to get the job done to the best of their ability, they should be united in that goal.

I dont want political union with the EU,and neither does any other remainers. We just want things left as they are.We have already got the best deal going!

If you really mean your opening remark then you are a Leaver. You cannot speak for the other 16m+ people who voted Remain. If things are left as they are then ever closer union will occur, it is unstoppable because it at the very heart of the whole purpose of having an EU. Your last sentence is laughable. Paying into the EU for evermore is not "the best deal going". It is the best deal the UK can have with the EU, but it most certainly is not "the best deal going".

I know @rob1 has already referred to it, and I have not needed to post the following since Tuesday:

You must have seen at least one of the numerous posts I have made on this forum. I will repeat it yet again just for your benefit. Please try to remember the purpose of what is now the EU according to the Founding Treaty:

THE TREATY OF ROME 25 March 1957
HIS MAJESTY THE KING OF THE BELGIANS, THE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY, THE PRESIDENT OF THE FRENCH REPUBLIC, THE PRESIDENT OF THE ITALIAN REPUBLIC, HER ROYAL HIGHNESS THE GRAND DUCHESS OF LUXEMBOURG, HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN OF THE NETHERLANDS, DETERMINED to lay the foundations of an ever-closer union among the peoples of Europe,

Nothing has changed, the ever closer union of the members of the EU has in fact become a lot closer since 1957. The introduction of the € changed things for ever for those who took it up. A major move. Countries no longer have their own currency.

We shall never find out now if it was or will be an option, shall we.

We already know. See immediately above.

No member can get out of ever closer union. No member can leave now unless all the others agree - a nice friendly sort of arrangement some think.

We will have to wait for the Queen's Speech. Does she normally have much, if any, input to what she reads?

Maybe this time she will hint that there is no possibility that she will concede sovereignty to the EU, in a similar vein to when she hoped the Scots would think carefully before the independence referendum.

Or maybe she is part of a very long-term plan for Germany to dominate the whole of Europe. The House of Windsor came into being in 1917, when the name was adopted as the British Royal Family's official name by a proclamation of King George V, replacing the historic name of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.

Utter rubbish!!! I dont agree with anything you have written. You keep bringing up "ever closer union",as if you and you alone are the only person that has read the original treaty.Tell me,what language was it originally written in? The ever closer union was always going to be desirable in 1957,not long after WW2 with all the damage it inflicted on the world. What we pay into the EU is peanuts compared to what we get out of it,we actually give N.Ireland more per year! The ever closer union has gone as far as it ever will now,all beneficial. No member can get out of the EU now? laughable on your part.Any country could easily get themselves thrown out,if they really wanted to.The reality is that no member would want to!

Nah. We all want to leave. You watch, in 3 years time there’ll only be Malta and Portugal left.

If you think that the ever closer union has gone as far as it ever will, it's time you started listening to Mr Verhofstadt. Unlike some others in the EU he says it as it is and makes no attempt to hide the truth about the future European Empire.

Indeed; and peace and prosperity is all we ever wanted- goal achieved. So why push further, to the point of alienating member states? That is the issue; well for me anyway.
