Juncker rules out extension. This deal or no deal. I'll take no deal thanks.
Me too, since it creates a line between NI and the rest of the UK. But I think that there will be a majority in Parliament for it now.
Jolly good, then educate me as to where and how these 'Irish Sea' problems will be.
What problems? The Tories and the DUP were the ones who were insistent that there be no difference between the situation of NI and the rest of the UK. Something which is certainly not true under this agreement.
That's not politics.
Ah... changing the tack... The situation was, is and will be different between the situation of NI and the rest of the UK; bio' checks aside, the Belfast Agreement spelt that out a long time ago. What this deal does not do, is put any barrier between NI and the rest of the UK.What problems? Have you read the details yet? Has Boris turned his back on us in NI ?Ah... changing the tack... No, quite a few from NI (believe it or not) are far from happy.Do you think that Scotland will be the only "state" in the EU that will be bellyacheing that NI will be having the best of both worlds?
Huh? It couldn’t be any more political.
I was more thinking those on the continent, who could want to make their own, maybe lower or tarrif free and non EU allinged arrangements, with close non EU neighbours. No, quite a few from NI (believe it or not) are far from happy.
Attempting to state someone said "Something" at a certain time and is now saying something different IS politics. Expecting the situation to remain the same is NOT politics.
In the case of the previous deal it was under a different Prime Minister.
Loyal party members WILL follow the lead of the leader in the party .. it's not unexpected for the position to change, indeed it would be wholely unacceptable for the position NOT to have changed in some way.
That IS politics.
Will be interesting to see the parties position change come the next general election .. still everything to play for.
Its part of the plan to remain!! Do keep up!?Extension for what? We’ve had 3 1/2 years of uncertainty what the fudge is an extension going to solve

Should the unlikely scenario of no deal eventuate I wish you the best of luck.Me too, since it creates a line between NI and the rest of the UK. But I think that there will be a majority in Parliament for it now.

Why?The EU will make sure there's no deal .
Edit no no no deal
Why?
Thank you; one rarely sees the word 'eventuate' used.Should the unlikely scenario of no deal eventuate I wish you the best of luck.
Yes and... yes, in part... But I don't think it's as bad as Arlene seems to. Legally / constitutionally there will be no difference at all to the present situation and, practically, there will be no difference at all to the present situation.Have you read the details yet? Has Boris turned his back on us in NI ?

But... there is certainly going to be a change in the theoretical situation; that can - for a bizarre wonder - be taken either way by both sides of the Brexit argument and the traditional divide in NI, it's a bit of 'Bl**dy hell well done / how the f*ck did you do that?' situation.
Flippancy aside, what I mean is that everyone can take what they will from it, either optimistically or pessimistically. The DUP are well wide of the mark in their claims that this is the thin end of a constitutional wedge that will sunder the UK, but they are right when they say that NI is being treated differently from the rest of the UK; but it has been since the Belfast Agreement was signed...
