Be a right fookin mess if that doesn't get sprayed off

why would it not get sprayed ?

there is always a spray opportunity if you have a motivated driver !

if it didn’t at least it would be a cheap mess - 2.5l/ha of fuel and 250kgs (VRA) home saved undressed seed out the heap

I'm sorry - you don't have a heavy side to any of your fields

I recall the day when land agents always rated land according to how many horses were needed to pull a (single furrow) plough.

Even then, those with one- or two-horse land always thought three-horse to be "heavy", whereas anyone with a bit of five-horse land regarded their four-horse neighbours as on fairly "light".

Leave it ,call it a wildlife corridor ,will take pic of my 4 blocked coulters from other night when itcomes up luckily only 2 runs and away from road , ,
I did think that, it's always surprising how much the skylarks like a blocked coulter or a bare patch come spring time but this was too much and it's right were the pegs will go for the adjoining drive so I'm hoping I'll get a bit less stick from having a patched up bit rather than a miss.

They're a good drill my cousin and a couple of neighbour's run them, one is an 8m.

I'm running a KRM r600 but Suffolk coulter not discs.

When we wanted to upgrade we looked for a couple of years to find a lz510 but couldn't, in the end the KRM came up and we bought that. I'd say was probably the better option as it's got 3 rows of counters so can handle a far bit of trash if were mintilling, it's a heavy old lump though compared to the lz.
It's a good drill when you get going. Covering 6 metres on a moderate acreage, it doesn't take long.
Tbh have never really taken to it. I never think its particularly user friendly, just little things that annoy me. Also Packing and unpacking almost requires an engineering degree!
Spare parts are almost non-existent which may be a problem. Had to redo the little tramline clutch springs and had to get a company to make some up - minimum order of 40!!
Wont handle trash v well, but can get away with a power harrow after the cultivator if trying some non inversion tillage.

Any point to drill barley in this weather

Biggest advantage will be an early havest in 2020 - I'm still on for 10th July.

Whereas being over-heavy with lots of spring cropping there's always a fairly big risk, should the weather close in again, of an unwelcome repeat of just what's happened this autumn.

Only just had chance piece this short clip together but this was some drilling on Wednesday.

That is really good and looks like it’s going very well . I don’t know why front hoppers aren’t more popular as they are so much better balanced . I see so many pics on here of folks running combi drills with a mountain of weight on the front just so they can turn around at the end .

Makes a massive difference having the weight of the hopper on the front and been able to transfer that weight onto the press wheels going down the field, keeps everything balanced.
